| Since
its inception in June 1994, the Attard Local Council has striven
to take stock of needs-from cleaning up streets, cutting weeds
and collecting bulky refuse, to tarmacing and patching roads,
fixing or altogether redoing pavements; upgrading and creating
gardens, providing services, even advice-but what it has also
sought and pledged to do is to upgrade and uplift the cultural
and social life of its residents in a variety of ways-from concerts
and festivals to a quarterly magazine to some 4000 households.
Currently the third Council is
in term and has until March 2004. There are seven members
in the Council.
